1 · The deal

RentChitti is a free rent-management service for landlords and their tenants, operated by an individual developer. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use RentChitti.

2 · "As is", no warranty

RentChitti is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. It is a bookkeeping tool built with care, but you use it at your own judgment.

3 · Your records, your responsibility

Owners are responsible for the accuracy of the records they enter (rents, payments, deposits, tenant details) and for the legal compliance of their tenancies — rent-control rules, tenancy registration, tax obligations and everything else the law asks of a landlord.

4 · Generated agreements are templates

Rental agreement documents generated by RentChitti are templates, not legal advice. RentChitti is not a party to any rental agreement made between an owner and a tenant. E-stamping, notarisation and registration requirements vary by state — completing them, and paying the applicable stamp duty, is the parties' responsibility. Consult a lawyer for anything important.

Where electronic stamping or Aadhaar eSign is offered, it is performed by licensed third-party providers (e.g. a CCA-licensed eSign service provider and SHCIL-authorised e-stamp channels). RentChitti facilitates the request but does not issue stamps or signatures itself.

5 · Acceptable use

• No unlawful, fraudulent or infringing content — including in uploaded documents.
• No harassment or abuse of tenants, other users, or the service itself.
• No attempts to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or to access data that isn't yours.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.

6 · Payments happen outside RentChitti

Rent moves directly from tenant to owner via UPI or bank transfer. RentChitti is not a party to those payments, does not process them, and is not responsible for disputes between owners and tenants.

7 · Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentChitti's total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid for it — which is ₹0. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or tenancies.

8 · Your data

Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export it any time, and it stays yours.

9 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.

10 · Changes

We may update these terms; changes will be notified on this site with a new effective date. Continuing to use RentChitti after a change means you accept the updated terms.
